TOPICS ALL SET FOR BUENAVENTURA-MEETING

The Buenaventura-people have identified five topics.  They need your
input before and after the meeting:

 1. Role and worth of a cultural centre in the community: what is the
commitment of a cultural centre to the community of where it is active?
what does a cultural centre WANT to do, what CAN it do, what SHOULD it
do?

 2. What architectural key features should be considered when building
or renovating a cultural centre?
We would like to continue with our current activities but we have to
move out in two years. What is the suitable building for a cultural
centre like ours? That is: one big venue for
concerts/conferences/meetings, a theatre/cinema, small rooms for
meetings, a bar, lodgings for volunteers and offices.

 3. Tips and tricks to get the people involved.

 4. How can we relate to public institutions (primarily the
municipality), establish cooperation and handle conflicts?

 5. Where can a cultural centre find private sources of income?

Do you think that you and your centre can contribute to one of these
issues with your experiences? We will ask every centre to decide on a
working group before the meeting. Every working group will receive
background information on the situation of Buenaventura but will also
be asked to describe their work experience beforehand to the others in
the working group.
