From "Venice":http://www.veniceairport.it/?lan=en Airport to Castelfranco Veneto (Well... **the meeting is almost over**, here you get detailed info on how to get home)
If you land in Venice Airport (not Venice-Treviso airport) first you must reach the Venice-Mestre train-station **by bus**, then take a **train to Castelfranco Veneto**. To reach the Railway station it's important to know that there is a train station in Venice, and another train station in Mestre (also called Venice-Mestre). Mestre is in the mainland, while Venice is in the island. The two train station are 5 km one from the other and are connected by a bridge (actually a line of land). Since the airport is in the mainland **you do not need to go to Venice** to catch the train to Castelfranco Veneto, instead you can stop in Mestre and take the train to Castelfranco.

In others words the bus from the Venice airport first takes you to Mestre and then to Venice so, if you do not stop in Mestre and reach Venice, once you take the train to Castelfranco the first stop will be Mestre again so... just stop in Mestre and go directly to Castelfranco and you'll save half an hour. (Well, actually if you've never see Venice, and you cannot wait till Sunday morning, it could be worth to go to the Venice train station anyhow since it's just in front of the Gran Canale, and you'll be able to see some gondolas right away). There are two bus-lines from Venice Marco Polo Airport to Mestre railway station (and vice-versa): * (fast and best) The **Flybus shuttle** by ATVO (out-of-town buses, blue ones); one ride (luggage included) cost 2.50 Euro and you can buy tickets in the ATVO stand in the arrivals lounge. The ATVO stand is open from 8 a.m. to 11:40 p.m (Info Tel. 0421 383672, as to say +39 0421 383672; they talk english). After closing hours you can buy tickets from the automatic machines just outsite the arrival lounge. As you see from ATVO official "timetable":http://www.atvo.it/eng/airport.php?ld=orari_fly.ihtm&id=1 the first bus start from 6.06 a.m. and the last one ten minutes past midnight and there is a bus every 20 minutes. The little blu f means working days (monday to saturday; the "sf" in the messy timetable). The big red F means Sunday and holidays (or just Sunday since there are no holidays during the days you are here). The ride takes from 17 to 20 minutes. In order to catch this bus you have to exit the Arrival lounge, cross the street since the bus stop is on the second platform (these buses are blue). Please note that the last bus, at 0.10, takes 30 minutes to reach Mestre since it goes first to Venice, and then Mestre (while normally these lines first stop in Mestre and then in Venice). * The **City bus** ACTV no. 15. One ride cost 1 Euro (you have to buy tickets from the ACTV stand in the arrivals lounge: check for signs "ACTV" or "Hello Venezia-VELA"). See "timetable":http://www.veniceairport.it/servizi_generici_popup.jhtml?lan=en&id=991&id_promozione=991. The ride takes about 20 minutes. There is a public service help number 041 24 24 (from abroad +39 041 24 24) in english (amazing!) open from 7:30 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. In order to catch this bus you have to exit the Arrival lounge, don't cross the street since the bus stop is on the first platform (these buses are yellow). At night-time buses are less frequent, so maybe it is better to take a taxi. The last hint: a taxi ride to Mestre R. S. should cost from 20 to 25 euros, not more (there are display machines on board that has to be switched on). If you really want or need to take it and you are alone, ask around if someone else wants to share the ride with you. It won’t be difficult to find someone. (Once again remember to take a taxi just to Mestre, and not to Venice) At Mestre Railway station, take the train to Castelfranco Veneto. To read the timetable go to the "Trenitalia web site":http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html and fill in the form with the following datas: * Leaving from: **Venezia Mestre** * Going to: **Castelfranco Veneto** * Travel date and time The jorney takes from 30 to 60 minutes and cost around 4 euro. It is easy to buy a ticket in the automatic machines. The automatic machines are in the ticket lounge, opposite the news agent shop (you cannot buy ticket on board... as to say you'll pay a big penality). Big and shiny yellow, you can't miss them. Bear in mind that the direct line from Mestre to Castelfranco is direction to Bassano del Grappa, Trento. There are secondary options through TREVISO or through PADOVA (in both case you have to change train in those Railway stations). As you see the last direct train to Castelfranco is at 21:17. Then there is another one at 22:06 but you have to go through Padova (change station in Padova). If you land late at night and you are not able to catch last train call us and we'll arrange it +39-3283-780781, Emma.
Once you are in Castelfranco read the [How to get to the Buenaventura from the Railway Station] page. The way back If, in the way back, you want to reach Venice airport directly from Venice (and not from Mestre) there are two different bus connections: * The **Venezia Air Terminal** (by ATVO, out-of-town buses; one ride cost 2.50 Euro). See "timetable":http://www.atvo.it/eng/airport.php?ld=orari_vat.ihtm&id=0 * The **City bus** ACTV no. 5 (one ride cost 1 Euro). See "timetable":http://www.veniceairport.it/servizi_generici_popup.jhtml?lan=en&id=773&id_promozione=773 Note that both bus starts from **Piazzale Roma**, 5 minutes walk from Venice Railway station (cars cannot reach Venice Railway station; Piazzale Roma it at the end of the bridge that connects Venice with the mainland). If you want it's possible to reach the airport directly by boat from Venice main square with the ALILAGUNA service (see "here":http://www.veniceairport.it/aeroporto.jhtml;jsessionid=0B5ZJBNQJPGNBQFIAIBCFE4AVABAEIV2?view=motoscafi&lan=en). It costs 10 euro and it takes 1 hour and 15 minutes in a beautiful landscape. All transports connections are well explained also in the "Venice airport web site dedicated to Transport and Bus":http://www.veniceairport.it/aeroporto.jhtml?view=autobus&lan=en#
From "Treviso":http://www.trevisoairport.it/?lan=en airport to Castelfranco Veneto *This is, of course, an alternative to the former option. You don't need to read it if you arrive to Venice Airport.* If you land in the "Treviso":http://www.trevisoairport.it/?lan=en airport (also called "San Giuseppe") the easiest way to reach Castelfranco Veneto is to first reach the Treviso Railway station by taxy (the fixed fee is 14 euro, not one cent more) or by the ACCT City Bus n. 6, then take a train (or a bus) to Castelfranco Veneto. You can follow these instructions: * Buy the ticket (please ask to the news agent shop in the little arrival lounge: *Do you sell bus tickets for Treviso?* - *Vendete biglietti per Treviso?* ). The ticket to Treviso Railway station costs 0,80 Euro (if you cannot find the ticket don't worry, you can buy it on board for 1.50 euro from the driver, but you need the exact coins amount). * Exit the lounge, the City Bus n. 6 stop is just in front of the airport (please note that you don’t have to cross the road since the bus will pass by the road in front of the airport and goes to the right). The bus will take you to Treviso bus station in 15-20 minutes. There is a bus every 30 minutes (from 6:09 am to 9:30 pm) and it's orange or gree (the new ones). Don't forget to obliterate your ticket (give it a stamp) in the designated machines!
* By the way there is also a secondary bus (blue color, named LA MARCA, that can take you to Treviso Railway station; it passes by the airport; from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm as city bus; ticket on board). * You can now go to Castelfranco either by Train or by Bus. Please note that there are two bus stops for City Bus n. 6 where you should get off, the Railway Station (in italian "stazione ferroviaria") and, right after, the Bus Station (in italian "stazione delle corriere"). (Since it's a City bus these two are not the only bus stops, of course). So you have two options: A. If you want to reach Castelfranco BY BUS (from 6:30 am to 7:50 pm). 1. Get off the City bus n. 6 at the **Bus Station**. Buy the bus ticket in the **biglietteria** in the ticket lounge (ticket to Castelfranco for less than 4 euro) or in the bar. The bus company is called LA MARCA, and you have to take **LA MARCA bus linea n. 6** direction to Vicenza. To see the Time table go "here":http://www.lamarcabus.it/orari/contenitore_orari.html and clic on linea n.6 where you can see the PDF file, or go directly to the "pdf file here":http://www.lamarcabus.it/orari/Orari/Linea006inv2005.PDF. As you see the first bus leave at 7:40 a.m. and the last one at 19:15 p.m. Notice that the bus to Castelfranco is a long-distance bus (also called "corriera") not the **yellow** city bus. Don't forget to obliterate your ticket (give it a stamp) in the designated machines!
2. Catch the bus to Castelfranco and ask the driver to please call you when you arrive. You can choose to stop in many different places, the best one being the stop at the Castelfranco bus station (also called Palazzetto), very close to all hotels. (*Can you please call me when we arrive in Castelfranco?* – *Mi potrebbe chiamare quando arriviamo a Castelfranco?*; *Devo scendere al Palazzetto* – *I have to stop in Palazzetto*). The ride takes about 50 minutes. 3. Here you can ask someone for the way to the hotel B. If you want to reach Castelfranco BY TRAIN. 1. Get off the City bus n. 6 at the **Railway Station**. (Treviso railway station is anyhow very near to the bus station: if you get out in the Bus station you will have to exit the bus station, go on the right, and go down via Roma. The railway station will be right in front of you). Bear in mind that there are not so many trains going to Castelfranco (and the bus stop in Castelfranco is very close to hotels, while the Castelfranco Railway station is about 1 km from your hotel). 2. At Treviso Railway station, take the train to Castelfranco Veneto (the direction you should use is the: Treviso to Vicenza). The travel costs from 2 to 7 euro (depending on if you choose 1st or 2nd class) and last from 15 to 30 minutes (you can't buy the ticket on board... as to say you have to pay a big penalty if you don't have a ticket when you get on board). To find the timetable go to the "Trenitalia web site":http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html and fill in the form with the following datas: * Leaving from: **Treviso** * Going to: **Castelfranco Veneto** * Travel date and time
Now please follow instruction on [How to get to your hotel from the Castelfranco Railway Station], or the [How to get to the Buenaventura from the Railway Station]. There is actually a second possibility that you can choose. To take a bus to Mestre Railway station and then a train to Castelfranco Veneto (there are some train option, in the web train time table, to reach castelfranco through Mestre). Or you can go directly to Venice by EUROBUS Ryanair or Basiqair bus (see below) and then to Castelfranco. It's a longer way but maybe more suitable with your time table. Before making the decision, please have a look at all the timetables, keeping into account that Treviso is nearer to Castelfranco than Mestre. Remember also that there are more trains from Mestre to Castelfranco than from Treviso, even if the latter is nearer. So, if you choose to go through Mestre you have to know that the journey will be longer. Anyway the bus from Treviso airport to Mestre will take you directly right in front of Mestre Railway station. (If you choose this option, please go to the upper part of this page an follow instructions on how to reach Castelfranco from Mestre to continue you trip) The way back If, on the way back, you want to reach Treviso airport directly from Venice (since on Sunday we'll be there for a tourist day together) there are two different solutions: * (best) The **EUROBUS** (by ATVO, out-of-town buses; one ride cost 4.30 Euro). The ride takes about 45 minutes. Platform D2. See "timetable for Ryanair":http://www.atvo.it/eng/airport.php?ld=index_euro.php&id=&var=t or "timetable for Basiqair":http://www.atvo.it/eng/airport.php?ld=index_euro_wing.php&id=0&var=t. You can buy tickets in Piazzale Roma at the ticket office ATVO (on the north-west side of Piazzale Roma). No tickets on board. Note that both buses starts from **Piazzale Roma**, 5 minutes walk from Venice Railway station (cars cannot reach Venice Railway station; Piazzale Roma it at the end of the bridge that connects Venice with the mainland). * take a train to Treviso and then the bus or a taxi to the Treviso Airport.
