PhD Edimburgo linguistica (Insegnamento Lingua Italiana)
Two PhD positions funded by the European Commission under the Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) scheme are available in the Centre for Speech Technology Research (CSTR). The project - Speech Communication with Adaptive Learning (SCALE) - is an interdisciplinary research training network concerned with speech recognition, speech synthesis, human speech recognition, signal processing and machine learning. SCALE involves six European universities and research institutes, as well as a number of industrial partners. You should have a first or upper second class honours degree or its equivalent, and/or a Masters degree, in Informatics or Linguistics.
Informatics includes areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Information Engineering, and Computational Linguistics. Linguistics includes areas such as Phonetics, Speech Science and Human Communication Sciences. Applicants with degrees in these disciplines will also be considered: Electrical Engineering, Psychology, Mathematics, Philosophy, and Physics. You must also fulfil European Union, Marie Curie ITN selection criteria.
Fixed Term: 3 years (full time)
Salary Scale: ARC £21,943 or £23,989 (depending upon superannuation being taken)
