» we are able to offer following awards:

» 1 Queen Mary Research Studentship to cover tuition fees (home or overseas)
» and provides a maintenance grant at the London rate paid by the Research
» Councils.
»
» 1 Westfield Trust Research Studentship to cover tuition fees at the home
» rate and provide a maintenance grant at the London rate paid by the
» Research Councils.
»
» 1 Peggy Holmes Research Studentship (in French Studies) to cover tuition
» fees at the home rate and provide a maintenance grant at the London rate
» paid by the Research Councils. Preference may be given to candidates
» applying to research in one of the following areas: Contemporary women's
» writing in French; female-authored autobiographical/ autofictional
» projects and visual culture (including phototexts, film and art
» installation projects).
»
» These awards, tenable for three years, are to be awarded by the summer of
» 2009 to our most highly qualified candidates (UK, EU or Overseas) applying
» to start a full-time PhD programme in September 2009. Subject to funding
» arrangements holders of research studentships in the School of Languages,
» Linguistics and Film will have the opportunity to teach up to a maximum of
» 4 hours per week in the second and third years of their study.
»
» To be eligible, applicants should have (or expect to have at the end of
» 2008/09) an MA or equivalent qualification.
»
» To be considered for Queen Mary funding, eligible candidates must apply
» for admission, with funding, by Monday 23rd March 2009. All required
» materials must be received in the Queen Mary Admissions Office by this
» date. However, it is strongly recommended that you apply well in advance
» of this deadline in order to receive full consideration for admission with

» Eligible applicants who submit the required materials for a Queen Mary
» award will also be considered for Arts and Humanities Research Council
