This three-year, full-time studentship is a collaborative doctoral award funded by the AHRC/ESRC Religion and Society programme for a project exploring the nature and implications of conflicts relating to student faith groups in British universities. The project is a collaboration between Birkbeck College and the National Union of Students, and in addition to producing a doctoral thesis, the award-holder will also be involved in developing resources for the NUS intended to help local student union officers reflect on issues raised by religious diversity on campus.

The studentship will pay fees, a maintenance grant at the standard AHRC rates (£15,290 for 2009/10), and will begin from 1 January 2010. Further details about the project, and an application form are available at http://www.bbk.ac.uk/crcs/postgraduate/CDA

The closing deadline for applications is 4.00pm on Thursday 29th October.
