Temporary Teacher of French

(Italian teaching for suitable candidate)

Required from January to August 2010 (two terms)

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and effective temporary Teacher of French to join the Languages department. This post is suitable for an NQT or an experienced teacher.

The Broxbourne School is an 11 - 18, co-educational, highly regarded, friendly and heavily over-subscribed all ability Foundation school of 1260 pupils with 230 A-level students. The school is situated just north of the M25 close to the train station with a fast service to London and Cambridge.

Ofsted has graded the school as 'outstanding' and described 'the exceptionally high standards and the richness of students' experience'. In 2009 97% of pupils achieved 5+ A* - C at GCSE with 87% achieving 8 or more higher grades. A-level points score 861. In 2007 and 2008 the progress made by pupils between the ages of 11 and 16 was in the top 5% of schools nationally.

The school is a Languages College and offers French and German to AS/A-level. Italian is taught to GCSE level and will be available at AS/A-level from 2010. The appointee will teach across the age and ability range.
