Overview
Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified individuals to join a pool of tutors who would be able to contribute to the University of Worcester Language Centre's programme of academic and leisure courses. As well as tutors in mainstream modern foreign languages, such as Spanish, French, Italian and German, we would be interested to hear from those who are able to teach any of the lesser-taught languages. Examples of such languages are Arabic, Danish, Finnish, Greek and Polish. However, this list is by no means exhaustive and tutors of other languages are encouraged to apply. Courses may take place face-to-face and/or online, both during the day and in the evening, and will range from beginner to advanced level.Core duties are outlined below, however individual roles and the hourly pay rate will vary according to what is taught and the needs of the department. Payment includes preparation, marking and course administration.Short-listed applicants will be placed in a register of sessional teachers and will be notified when suitable vacancies arise. Pay: Dependent on the nature of the work, the rate of pay will be either £23.38 per contact hour (including £2.77 holiday pay) for non-academic courses or £38.68 per contact hour (including £5.90 holiday pay) for undergraduate modules. Payment includes preparation, marking, course administration, and tutorial support for the contact hours.
