postdoc position french (Insegnamento Lingua Italiana)
Applications are invited for an AHRC-funded Research Fellow to assist Professor Linda Paterson of the University of Warwick, Professor Stefano Asperti and Dr. Anna Radaelli of the University of La Sapienza in Rome, and Dr. Ruth Harvey of Royal Holloway College, University of London, in editing medieval French and Occitan texts for their project entitled Lyric Responses to the Crusades in Medieval France and Occitania'.
The work will involve transcribing texts from microfilms of the medieval manuscripts; checking the accuracy of manuscript readings made by others in the team; translating English translations of Occitan texts into Italian; maintaining the bibliography; preparing texts for publication on websites; identifying and photocopying material needed for the preparation of all critical editions; photocopying other material as needed; and preparing critical editions and translations of four or more texts, OF or Occitan as appropriate to your skills and the time available.
You will have a PhD, or equivalent, in the field of medieval French and/or Occitan, and will work under the primary guidance of Professor Asperti.
