Lund University invites applications for a doctoral studentship in=20
practical philosophy, at the Department of Philosophy, with a starting=20
date of 1 September 2012.

The department consists of three units: Practical Philosophy,=20
Theoretical Philosophy and Cognitive Science. The units are to a large=20
extent autonomous when it comes to research and teaching profiles. A=20
common ambition for the department's researchers is to contribute to the=20
international development of their fields, by publishing articles in=20
peer-reviewed international journals of high quality, by publishing=20
books with international publishers, and by co-operating with=20
researchers at other departments in Sweden and abroad.

Research profile in Practical Philosophy: Main areas in which the unit=20
conducts research are value theory, including formal axiology, reasons=20
and normativity, practical rationality, decision theory, quality of=20
life, concepts of desert, rights, and equality, social ontology, group=20
action and shared responsibility, virtue ethics.
