£20,657-£23,517 pa pro rata (including London Allowance) depending on relevant knowledge and skills
The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UKs leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world.
Applications are invited for a part time, fixed term, Project Assistant post to catalogue medieval ivory sculptures for the Gothic Ivories Project, in order to make new collections available online as part of the Gothic Ivories web site-www.gothicivories.courtauld.ac.uk. The Project Assistant will be focusing especially on implementing collaborations with Italian repository institutions, working with them to add their collections to the database.
A History of Art degree, familiarity with medieval iconography, fluency in written and spoken Italian, and excellent reading skills in French are essential requirements. The post-holder should also have good knowledge and experience of databases both as cataloguer and user, strong communication and organisational skills.
