Overview
Under the direction of the school principal is responsible for supporting the school and the Diocese of Bridgeport in its mission. He/she is to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing diocesan approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Educators are engaged in a school conducted by the Roman Catholic Church for the express purpose of education in the academic, social, moral and religious values promulgated by the Church.
FLSA Status: Exempt
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
    Working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership in the Catholic Church.
    If a baptized Catholic, must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.
    If married, must be in a valid sacramental marriage. Those living with a partner must be in a valid sacramental marriage.
    Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, public speaking and presentation skills.
    Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player.
    Be available for evening meetings as necessary.
    Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    Proficiency in the use of computer technology including Microsoft Office and related educational technology; ability to maintain confidentiality.
    Flexibility in assessing needs and strategies and adapt appropriately in a ministerial environment.
    Professional bearing and clean and neat personal appearance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment
    Valid State Teaching Certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Practicing Roman Catholic, in good standing
    Masters Degree in related area
    Demonstrated experience teaching in a Catholic School
    Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level
    Valid State Teaching Certification in the appropriate grade level and/or subject
