The Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) is one of the leading research
universities in Germany with a special focus on interdisciplinary
collaborations.
The Department of Psychological Methods (Faculty of Psychology) invites
applications for a position as
(Post-)Doctoral Researcher in Philosophy (or Psychology) (75%, until June
20, 2018)
The position is part of the interdisciplinary research project „Developing
and Testing a Theoretical Model of the Pursuit of Well-Being“ funded by the
Happiness and Well-Being Project (http://www.happinessandwellbeing.org/) by
St. Louis University and Templeton Foundation. The goal of this project is
to empirically study philosophical perspectives on happiness and well-being
using psychological research methods. Candidates will be expected to
implement the philosophical part of the project and to collaborate closely
with another researcher with background in psychology.
The project is located at the Ruhr University Bochum. Depending on the
qualification and background of the candidate, the main workplace will be
in Bochum (Prof. Dr. Maike Luhmann, Department of Psychological Methods,
Faculty of Psychology, Ruhr University Bochum) or in Cologne (Prof. Dr.
Wilfried Hinsch, Philosophical Seminar, University of Cologne).

Required qualifications in Philosophy
· Ph.D. in philosophy
· Very good English skills
· Ideally some experiences with empirical projects
· Ability and willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team, capacity
for team work, high work engagement
