Researcher: Italian cinema (Altro)
You will contribute to primary research for the AHRC research project 'Producers and Production Practices in the History of Italian Cinema, 1949-75' as directed by the Principal Investigator (Prof Stephen Gundle). You will participate in project events in the UK and Italy and contribute to project publications. You will work with project Investigators and other Research Fellows in the successful execution of the project.
You must have experience of working in Italian film industry archives and be prepared to undertake research trips to archives in various Italian locations as necessitated by the project. You will share research materials and findings with the research team and participate in the elaboration and presentation of project results in the form of publications, exhibitions, conference papers, and workshops.
You will need to work independently and carry out assigned tasks but also to engage in a cooperative spirit with other members of the project team. You will be expected to provide regular reports on your research activity to the P.I. You will need to be fluent in English and Italian.
If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,453 pa). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,301 pa).
