Staff Tutors have an important role in keeping The Open University at the forefront of supported distance higher education. You will lead a team of highly qualified tutors (Associate Lecturers) in teaching enthusiastic and motivated adult learners enrolled on a range of courses in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Welsh and English Language Teaching. You will also select, train, develop and supervise these tutors. In addition, you will be expected to contribute nationally to the delivery of courses.

You will have a higher degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject. Your experience will include the effective planning and management of staff and other resources and preferably experience of teaching adults. You should be IT literate and enthusiastic about the application of ICT in education contexts. Fluency in one of the languages taught at The Open University is desirable. You will be used to working in diverse teams yet able to take initiative. You must be able to operate under pressure and be prepared to travel when necessary.
