Low-level processing in L2 speech perception
A 12-month ER fellowship is available to work on modelling non-native speech perception as part of Project 6 of the Marie Curie Research Training Network Sound to Sense. The fellowship will be based in Charles University, Prague (Czech Republic), with the expectation that up to 30% of the time will be spent at other project partners' institutions. The work will investigate the effect of noise on speech production and perception for several languages, and will involve participation in the development of software to collect speech in noise at a number of sites, followed by corpus collection, annotation and analysis, in conjunction with experts in acoustic-phonetics.
