Greifswald International Students Festival
location of project: Greifswald (Germany)
start: 01 February 2010
deadline: 25 October 2009
duration: 6 month
number of volunteers: 2 open places for volunteer(s)
summary:
-The name and subject of the project is Greifswald International Students
Festival (GrIStuF) which will take place in May 2010. The organization
planning this festival is built by a group of students, who are working
voluntarily to promote cultural diversity at Greifswald (lectures,
debates, campaigns, thematic trips, "Fête de la Musique", etc.) and to
foster international awareness and tolerance at the international level
with the festival.
It is the region's largest international student conference, at which 200
students from throughout the world will discuss a broad range of topics
including current issues such as environmental protection, global change,
discrimination and interesting aspects of economy and ethics.
International experts will be invited to the conference to hold lectures
and stimulate debate. A lot of cultural events will be planned as well.
selection:
-We would love to welcome to volunteers from february till july 2010. It would be useful to speak english, as the students attending the festival are coming from all around the world and english is the language used in the festival. As there is a big variety of tasks the volunteer could do, there are no special criterias, we are looking forward to everything a volunteer can contribute to the festivals organisation.
specific selection:
We would like to apply for the 1st Novembre deadline, so there isn't much time left. If you're interested in our project, we would be glad to get an email from you where you can tell us about your motivation to participate in our project.
tasks:
-The two volunteers we would love to welcome in our project will help to
prepare the festival and everything which is needed for that (preparing
and doing workshops, public relations, planning cultural events, taking
care of the international participants etc.)! We already have some
experience in working with volunteers. It would be the third time to have
some European Volunteers taking part in the project, so you wouldn't be
the first one!
specific tasks:
There are no specific tasks needed, still it would be good to speak english. The organisation of the festival offers a lot of possibilities to participate, so all kind of skills are welcome.
