The School of Communication and Creative Industries (SCCI) at Charles Sturt=
University is offering a three year PhD Research Compact Funded Scholarshi=
p. The SCCI, one of the leading centres of communication and media studies =
in Australia, is located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. Charles S=
turt University is the host institution for the Centre for Applied Philosop=
hy and Public Ethics (CAPPE). The successful candidate will also have cont=
act with and access to the research resources of the Centre for Applied Phi=
losophy and Public Ethics at Charles Sturt University, located in Canberra.=

Scholarship Details
The 3-year scholarship is set at the same level as an Australian Postgradua=
te Award (currently $23,728) per year and is open to both Australian and In=
ternational students. The research to be undertaken will be in the combined=
disciplines of applied philosophy and applied ethics in the fields of Medi=
a and New Media, including the philosophy and ethics of Communication and I=
nformation Technologies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity=
to choose a specific topic of his or her interest in consultation with the=
supervisor of the project, Dr Edward H. Spence.
Qualifications
Applicants are expected to have obtained an Honours degree or a Master=92s =
degree by research or equivalent, in philosophy and/or ethics.

Commencement Date
Scholarship students are expected to enrol at the end of the February 2012 =
