University of Exeter Foreign Language Centre

Due to expansion, the Foreign Language Centre at the University of Exeter is seeking to increase its pool of part-time hourly paid tutors who already live within / close to the region of Exeter and who would be available to teach in the daytime and evenings. We therefore welcome interest from suitably qualified, experienced language tutors for occasional teaching hours on a range of programmes, including daytime credit-rated courses and evening classes.

There are possible part-time vacancies for the academic year 2008-09 in the following foreign languages,:
Arabic, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Russian and Spanish.

We are particularly interested in hearing from tutors in French, Greek, Italian and Spanish for our Evening Language Programme which offers general language courses to the general public, students and staff. All ELP classes run in the evenings for 10 consecutive weeks and take place between 18.00 - 20.00.

Please note that work is offered on a part-time hourly basis only (from 2 hours per week) and is therefore likely to be of interest to tutors seeking supplementary / occasional work. Applicants should only apply if they are already based or planning to be based in or around Exeter and are within reasonable travelling distance of the University.

The hourly teaching rate is currently £31.44.

For further details of the programmes offered by the FLC, please see www.exeter.ac.uk/flc

To register your interest, please email your CV and covering letter to Jonathan Lippman, Director, Foreign Language Centre, Queen's Building, The Queen's Drive, Exeter EX4 4QH, email j.lippman@exeter.ac.uk

The closing date for application will be September 15th 2008

The University of Exeter is an equal opportunity employer and promotes diversity in its workforce and, whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, is particularly keen to consider applications from groups currently underrepresented in the workforce.
